Using the Templates

Here the students are constructing trusses using templates to ensure all are consistent for testing using increasing amounts of weight.

    1.What materials did you use to build your bridge?
    We used popsicle stick’s, glue and string.
    2.What steps did you take to make your bridge?
    First we built the trusses on a template. Then we glued the trusses together using cross pieces.
    3.How did you test your bridge?
    We tested our bridge with books and people.
    4.What was the result of your test?
    Our bridge held 105 pounds!
    5.What did you learn?
    We learned how to build a bridge.
    6.What would I do different next time?
    Next time we will put more layers and make it more stabled, and more straight.

    The materials we use were Popsicle sticks and string and glue.
    2.What steps did you take to make your bridge?
    The steps we took were first make the sides using two template with popsicle sticks. .
    3.How did you test your bridge?
    How we did our test was with books with a scale with one of us.
    4.What was the result of your test?
    The result was 74 pounds
    5.What did you learn?
    We learn how to make a truss bridge out of pop sickle sticks.
    6.What will you do differently the next time?
    We will make the bridge stronger next time by making more layers.

    We used step on a paper.

    We tested are bridge with books.

    our bridge was very broke so we could not test it.

    I learned that building a bridge takes time.
    6.What would I do different next time?
    I will try harder next time and have more patients next time.

    We used popsicle sticks ,glue and string.
    2.What steps did you take to make your bridge?
    The steps we did were starting on the triangle then building it up than we did the same on the other side then connecting on top and on bottom.
    3.How did you test your bridge?
    How we tested the bridge was by putting books on it to see how much It can hold and then kids and teachers.
    4.What was the result of your test?
    Our bridge held 145 pounds.
    5. What did you learn?
    We learned that the more glue you use the stronger the bridge is going to be.
    6.what would I do different next time?
    Next time we will put more layers to prevent it from crashing.

    First thing we did is the traces and then the templates.

    We test our bridge with books and we are going to weigh the books on a scale.

    We had 80 pounds on our bridge.
    5.What did you learn?
    That we had to have a lot of glue and popsicle sticks.

    We will make it level next time.
